For this project I was asked to create concept art for a futuristic city. How I envision the future, is by being underwater! The crust of the Earth is going to sink at some point after-all. I took my city inspiration from "Atlantica", the city/palace from The Little Mermaid. As for the people from the future, I envision them to look along the lines of "Abe Sapien" from Hellboy, or at least their scuba gear would look similar.
I wanted the foreground to be a little more colorful and be like a coral reef. I got my color pallet and overall concept inspiration from this artists's work above. I chose the city to not have any lights on since it is abandoned.
I also created some of my own brushes for this project such as the bubbles and kelp. All of this was done in a painting kind of way since I like that type of look a lot.
